Article Synopsis
  • - Cardiovascular diseases are common in rheumatoid arthritis patients, with factors like epicardial fat thickness and specific serum biomarker levels (betatrophin, chemerin, and adropin) potentially linked to these conditions.
  • - The study involved 80 RA patients and 80 healthy controls, measuring serum biomarker levels and epicardial fat thickness through echocardiography while excluding individuals with other health complications.
  • - Results showed that RA patients had higher epicardial fat thickness and chemerin levels, along with lower adropin levels, suggesting a significant relationship between RA and cardiovascular involvement.
