Slow magnetic relaxation in a heteroleptic anilate-based Dy metal-organic framework.

Novel heteroleptic anilate-based lanthanide MOFs (Ln = Tb, Dy, Ho) have been obtained under hydrothermal conditions by the ancillary ligand synthetic strategy. These structurally isomorphous species contain octacoordinated Ln ions with coordination polyhedra approaching an ideal symmetry, best described by a distorted biaugmented trigonal prismatic geometry. In the whole series, only the Dy-MOF exhibits SMM behaviour.

Spontaneous pre-excited supraventricular tachycardias in a Labrador Retriever.

A four-year-old Labrador Retriever was presented for intermittent tachycardia. The electrocardiogram showed sinus rhythm conducted with ventricular pre-excitation and short runs of orthodromic atrioventricular reciprocating tachycardia. Four months later, the rhythm degenerated into a symptomatic sustained tachycardia, suspected to be pre-excited atrial fibrillation, a potentially life-threatening rhythm in the presence of an accessory pathway with a short refractory period.

Strong Anharmonicity at the Origin of Anomalous Thermal Conductivity in Double Perovskite Cs NaYbCl.

Anomalous thermal transport of Cs NaYbCl double-halide perovskite above room temperature is reported and rationalized. Calculations of phonon dispersion relations and scattering rates up to the fourth order in lattice anharmonicity have been conducted to determine their effective dependence on temperature. These findings show that specific phonon group velocities and lifetimes increase if the temperature is raised above 500 K.
