We make absolute frequency measurements of Cs Rydberg transitions, |6S_{1/2},F=3⟩→|nS_{1/2}(n=23-90)⟩ and |nD_{3/2,5/2}(n=21-90)⟩, with an accuracy of less than 72 kHz. The quantum defect parameters for the measured Rydberg series are the most precise obtained to date. The quantum defect series is terminated at δ_{4}, showing that prior fits requiring higher order quantum defects reflect uncertainties in the observations.

Article Synopsis
  • Researchers discovered that dengue virus (DENV) can use IgG antibodies to enter cells through a process called antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE), which requires a receptor known as FcgR.
  • They conducted CRISPR knockout screens to identify additional host factors that facilitate ADE and found new proteins, TBC1D24 and SV2B, that play important roles in this process.
  • This study highlights the complex biology of ADE and offers insights into potential factors that could be targeted for better understanding and treatment of dengue infections.

Dengue virus (DENV) can hijack non-neutralizing IgG antibodies to facilitate its uptake into target cells expressing Fc gamma receptors (FcgR) - a process known as antibody-dependent enhancement (ADE) of infection. Beyond a requirement for FcgR, host dependency factors for this non-canonical infection route remain unknown. To identify cellular factors exclusively required for ADE, here, we performed CRISPR knockout screens in an system permissive to infection only in the presence of IgG antibodies.

Background & Aims: Bulevirtide (BLV) is a small lipopeptide agent that specifically binds to the sodium taurocholate cotransporting polypeptide (NTCP) bile salt transporter and HBV/HDV receptor on the surface of human hepatocytes and inhibits HDV and HBV entry. As a satellite virus of HBV, HDV virions are formed after assembly of HDV RNA with the HBV envelope proteins (HBsAg). Because both viruses exist as eight different genotypes, this creates a potential for high diversity in the HBV/HDV combinations.

The 2D photoelectron velocity map imaging (VMI) technique is commonly employed in gas-phase molecular spectroscopy and dynamics investigations due to its ability to efficiently extract photoelectron spectra and angular distributions in a single experiment. However, the standard technique is limited to specific light-source polarization geometries. This has led to significant interest in the development of 3D VMI techniques, which are capable of measuring individual electron positions and arrival times, obtaining the full 3D distribution without the need for inversion, forward-convolution, or tomographic reconstruction approaches.
