It has long been established that axions could have been produced within the nascent proto-neutron star formed following the type II supernova SN1987A, escaped the star due to their weak interactions, and then converted to gamma rays in the Galactic magnetic fields; the nonobservation of a gamma-ray flash coincident with the neutrino burst leads to strong constraints on the axion-photon coupling for axion masses m_{a}≲10^{-10}  eV. In this Letter, we use SN1987A to constrain higher mass axions, all the way to m_{a}∼10^{-3}  eV, by accounting for axion production from the Primakoff process, nucleon bremsstrahlung, and pion conversion along with axion-photon conversion on the still-intact magnetic fields of the progenitor star. Moreover, we show that gamma-ray observations of the next Galactic supernova, leveraging the magnetic fields of the progenitor star, could detect quantum chromodynamics axions for masses above roughly 50  μeV, depending on the supernova.

The greater amberjack Seriola dumerili is a promising candidate for aquaculture production. This study compares the ovary transcriptome of greater amberjack sampled in the wild (WILD) with hatchery-produced breeders reared in aquaculture sea cages in the Mediterranean Sea. Among the seven sampled cultured fish, three were classified as reproductively dysfunctional (DysF group), while four showed no signs of reproductive alteration (NormalF group).

Ribonucleotides represent the most common non-canonical nucleotides found in eukaryotic genomes. The sources of chromosome-embedded ribonucleotides and the mechanisms by which unrepaired rNMPs trigger genome instability and human pathologies are not fully understood. The available sequencing technologies only allow to indirectly deduce the genomic location of rNMPs.

The first observation of the singly Cabibbo-suppressed Ω_{c}^{0}→Ω^{-}K^{+} and Ω_{c}^{0}→Ξ^{-}π^{+} decays is reported, using proton-proton collision data at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV, corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 5.4  fb^{-1}, collected with the LHCb detector between 2016 and 2018. The branching fraction ratios are measured to be B(Ω_{c}^{0}→Ω^{-}K^{+})/B(Ω_{c}^{0}→Ω^{-}π^{+})=[6.

Background: Macroalgae, especially reds (Rhodophyta Division) and browns (Phaeophyta Division), are known for producing various halogenated compounds.
