Background: B cells drive antibody formation and T cell activation. This study aimed to describe the clinical indications, efficacy and adverse events (AEs) for the B-cell depleting agent, rituximab, in a large cohort of children with lupus.
Methods: Prescribing records and the UK JSLE Cohort Study database identified rituximab use.
We describe the impact of community health workers (CHWs) providing community-based support services to enrollees who are high consumers of health resources in a Medicaid managed care system. We conducted a retrospective study on a sample of 448 enrollees who were assigned to field-based CHWs in 11 of New Mexico's 33 counties. The CHWs provided patients education, advocacy and social support for a period up to 6 months.
View Article and Find Full Text PDFTo determine the effect of admission body weight on blunt trauma victims, a chart review of all patients greater than 12 years of age admitted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital between January 1 and July 31, 1987 was undertaken. The charts of 351 patients were reviewed; 184 records contained admission height and weight. These 184 patients made up the study group and age, gender, injuries, Injury Severity Score (ISS), ventilator days (VD), complications, length of stay (LOS), and outcome were noted.
