Histopathological heterogeneity in the human pancreas is well documented; however, functional evidence at the tissue level is scarce. Herein, we investigate in situ glucose-stimulated islet and carbachol-stimulated acinar cell secretion across the pancreas head (PH), body (PB), and tail (PT) regions in donors without diabetes (ND; n = 15), positive for one islet autoantibody (1AAb+; n = 7), and with type 1 diabetes (T1D; <14 months duration, n = 5). Insulin, glucagon, pancreatic amylase, lipase, and trypsinogen secretion along with 3D tissue morphometrical features are comparable across regions in ND.

Differential effects of sertraline and cognitive behavioural therapy on behavioural inhibition in patients with obsessive compulsive disorder.

Patients with obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD) randomised to sertraline, manualised cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), or combination (sertraline + CBT), underwent cognitive assessment. Cognitive testing was conducted at baseline and at week 16. The stop signal reaction time task (SSRT) was used to evaluate motor impulsivity and attentional flexibility was evaluated using the intra/extra-dimensional set shifting task.

Venetoclax-based low intensity therapy in molecular failure of NPM1-mutated AML.

Molecular failure in NPM1-mutated acute myeloid leukemia (AML) inevitably progresses to frank relapse if untreated. Recently published small case series show that venetoclax combined with low-dose cytarabine or azacitidine can reduce or eliminate measurable residual disease (MRD). Here, we report on an international multicenter cohort of 79 patients treated for molecular failure with venetoclax combinations and report an overall molecular response (≥1-log reduction in MRD) in 66 patients (84%) and MRD negativity in 56 (71%).

DTaP-IPV-HB-Hib vaccine (Hexaxim): an update 10 years after first licensure.

Introduction: Hexaxim® is fully liquid, hexavalent, combination vaccine that provides immunization against diphtheria, tetanus, pertussis (whooping cough), polio, hepatitis B, and invasive diseases caused by type b. Combination vaccines such as Hexaxim reduce the number of injections needed, improving both vaccination compliance and operational efficiency.
