Purpose: Multidisciplinary tumor boards (MTB) are associated with improved outcomes. Yet, most patients in Western countries receive cancer care at non-academic medical centers. Guideline adherence of MTB recommendations in non-academic medical centers as well as factors contributing to non-adherence remain largely unexplored.

Background: The omission of a prophylactic intra-abdominal drainage has been under debate in pancreatic surgery due to the high-risk of complications and especially of postoperative pancreatic fistula (POPF). Recently, the second randomized controlled trial (RCT) and two propensity score-matched comparative studies assessing risks and benefits of a no-drainage policy versus prophylactic drainage after distal pancreatectomy (DP) have been published. This systematic review with meta-analysis provides an updated summary of the available evidence on this topic.

Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) are promising lighting solutions for sustainability and energy efficiency. Incorporating thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) molecules enables OLEDs to achieve internal quantum efficiency (IQE), in principle, up to 100 %; therefore, new classes of promising TADF emitters and modifications of existing ones are sought after. This study explores the TADF emission properties of six designed TADF emitters, examining their photophysical responses using experimental and theoretical methods.

Background & Aims: More than half of pancreatic ductal adenocarcinomas (PDACs) recur within 12 months after curative-intent resection. This systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to identify all reported prognostic factors for early recurrence in resected PDACs.

Methods: After a systematic literature search, a meta-analysis was conducted using a random effects model.

[]cycloparaphenylenes ([]CPPs) as well as -heterocyclic carbene (NHC) gold(I)-complexes are intriguing building blocks for material and life sciences due to their extraordinary structures resulting in unique photophysical properties. Herein, we report the combination of a [6]CPP with a -heterocyclic carbene serving as a ligand in a linear gold(I)-complex possessing the form [AuBr(NHC)]. Solid-state structures of both the precursor and the complex are presented and discussed.
