In preclinical experiments, cyclic fasting-mimicking diets (FMDs) showed broad anticancer effects in combination with chemotherapy. Among different tumor types, triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) is exquisitely sensitive to FMD. However, the antitumor activity and efficacy of cyclic FMD in TNBC patients remain unclear.

Unveiling the Rare: A Case of Renal Cell Carcinoma Acrometastasis.

Acrometastasis refers to a rare form of skeletal metastasis affecting sites distal to the knees and elbows, often leading to significant functional impairment and reduced quality of life. This case report details a 65-year-old man with a history of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) who presented with persistent pain and swelling in the distal aspect of his left long finger. An incisional biopsy confirmed the lesion as metastatic RCC.

Estimation of gait parameters in healthy and hemiplegic individuals using Azure Kinect: a comparative study with the optoelectronic system.

Introduction: Walking ability is essential for maintaining functional independence, but it can be impaired by conditions like hemiplegia resulting from a stroke event. In post-stroke populations, accurately assessing gait anomalies is crucial for rehabilitation to promote functional recovery, and to prevent falls or injuries.

Methods: The aim of this study is to evaluate gait-related parameters using a solution based on a single RGB-D camera, specifically Microsoft Azure Kinect DK (MAK), on a short walkway in both healthy (n= 27) and post-stroke individuals with hemiplegia (n= 20).

Prevalence and incidence of HIV among people aged 50 years and older continue to rise worldwide, generating increasing awareness among care providers, scientists, and the HIV community about the importance of brain health in older adults with HIV. Many age-related factors that adversely affect brain health can occur earlier and more often among people with HIV, including epigenetic ageing, chronic medical conditions (eg, cardiovascular disease), and age-related syndromes (eg, frailty). Extensive dialogue between HIV community leaders, health-care providers, and scientists has led to the development of a multidimensional response strategy to protect and enhance brain health in people ageing with HIV that spans across public health, clinical spaces, and research spaces.
