PharmD Education Program Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion: Aligning Accreditation, Curricula, and the Oath.

In November 2021, the Oath of a Pharmacist was updated to include the following statement, "I will promote inclusion, embrace diversity, and advocate for justice to advance health equity." These words underscore the responsibility of Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) programs and the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education to reconsider how diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism are integrated within curricula and programmatic processes. To fully embrace the new Oath, the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education and PharmD programs should consider the incorporation of diversity, equity, inclusion, and antiracism concepts utilizing the recommendations of external expert bodies with overlapping and complementary frameworks.

Demographic and Socioeconomic Factors in Prospective Retina-Focused Clinical Trial Screening and Enrollment.

Historically marginalized populations are disproportionately affected by many diseases that commonly affect the retina, yet they have been traditionally underrepresented in prospective clinical trials. This study explores whether this disparity affects the clinical trial enrollment process in the retina field and aims to inform future trial recruitment and enrollment. Age, gender, race, ethnicity, preferred language, insurance status, social security number (SSN) status, and median household income (estimated using street address and zip code) for patients referred to at least one prospective, retina-focused clinical trial at a large, urban, retina-based practice were retrospectively extracted using electronic medical records.

A multicenter study of gender bias in student evaluations of teaching in pharmacy programs.

Introduction: Student evaluations of teaching (SET) are widely used to assess effectiveness of teaching. Studies conducted to assess the presence of gender bias in SET have produced mixed results. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the presence and degree of gender bias in SET of didactic courses in United States pharmacy programs.

Immunogenicity and Safety of a 3-Antigen Hepatitis B Vaccine vs a Single-Antigen Hepatitis B Vaccine: A Phase 3 Randomized Clinical Trial.

Importance: There is a need for improved immunogenicity of hepatitis B virus (HBV) vaccines among young adults with risk of infection.

Objectives: To demonstrate manufacturing equivalence of a 3-antigen (3A) HBV vaccine, evaluate noninferiority of seroprotection rate (SPR) of 3A-HBV vs single-antigen (1A) HBV after 2 and 3 vaccine doses, and compare safety and reactogenicity between 3A-HBV and 1A-HBV vaccines.

Design, Setting, And Participants: This phase 3, double-blinded, randomized clinical trial included healthy adults aged 18 to 45 years randomized to 1 of three 3A-HBV groups or 1 control group receiving 1A-HBV.

Different Interset Rest Intervals During the Nordic Hamstrings Exercise in Young Male Athletes.

Context: The Nordic hamstring exercise (NHE) is known to reduce hamstrings injury risk in athletes. To optimize the NHE, it is important to understand how acute resistance-training variables influence its performance.

Objective: To examine the effects of different interset rest intervals (ISRIs) on force indices during performance of the NHE.
