Model compression for real-time object detection using rigorous gradation pruning.

Achieving lightweight real-time object detection necessitates balancing model compression with detection accuracy, a difficulty exacerbated by low redundancy and uneven contributions from convolutional layers. As an alternative to traditional methods, we propose Rigorous Gradation Pruning (RGP), which uses a desensitized first-order Taylor approximation to assess filter importance, enabling precise pruning of redundant kernels. This approach includes the iterative reassessment of layer significance to protect essential layers, ensuring effective detection performance.

Reduced durability of hybrid immunity to SARS-CoV-2 in immunocompromised children.

Background: In endemic COVID-19, immunocompromised children are vulnerable until vaccinated but the optimal primary vaccination regime and need for booster doses remains uncertain.

Methods: We recruited 19 immunocompromised children (post-solid organ transplantation, have autoimmune disease or were on current or recent chemotherapy for acute lymphoblastic leukemia), and followed them from the start of primary vaccination with BNT162b2 mRNA SARS-CoV-2 until 1-year post-vaccination. We investigated the quality of vaccine immunogenicity, and longevity of hybrid immunity, in comparison to healthy children.

Self-maintenance of zonal hepatocytes during adult homeostasis and their complex plasticity upon distinct liver injuries.

Hepatocytes are organized into distinct zonal subsets across the liver lobule, yet their contributions to liver homeostasis and regeneration remain controversial. Here, we developed multiple genetic lineage-tracing mouse models to systematically address this. We found that the liver lobule can be divided into two major zonal and molecular hepatocyte populations marked by Cyp2e1 or Gls2.

Background: Functional constipation (FC) negatively impacts quality of life and is associated with gut microbiota (GM) imbalances. Despite the growing interest in this area, a thorough analysis of research trends is missing. This study uses bibliometric methods to assess the global research on GM's role in FC, pinpointing key topics, impactful studies, and prominent researchers to guide future research and identify gaps.
