The cost of human papillomavirus vaccination delivery at the administrative and health facility levels in the Philippines.

Background: The World Health Organization has recommended the inclusion of human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccines in national immunization programs to address the global problem of cervical cancer. In the Philippines, HPV vaccination was introduced in a phased approach in 2015. This study seeks to estimate the cost of delivery of the HPV vaccination program and its operational context in the Philippines.

Understanding integrated HPV testing and treatment of pre-cancerous cervical cancer in Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guatemala and Philippines: study protocol.

Background: Many low- and-middle-income countries are disproportionately burdened by cervical cancer, resulting in high morbidity and mortality. HPV-DNA testing coupled with treatment with thermal ablation is a recommended screening and precancer treatment strategy, but not enough is known about how this can be effectively implemented in the context of integrated services. The (Scale Up Cervical Cancer Elimination by Secondary prevention Strategy, (SUCCESS) project is conducting a study to understand this approach, integrated into existing women's health services in Burkina Faso, Cote d'Ivoire, Guatemala, and the Philippines (2020-2024).

The cost-effectiveness of human papillomavirus vaccination in the Philippines.

Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer among women in the Philippines. Human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination provides protection from the most common cancer-causing HPV types. This analysis used a proportionate outcomes model to estimate the potential cost-effectiveness of four different HPV vaccine products-Cervarix™, Cecolin®, GARDASIL®, and GARDASIL®9-for routine HPV vaccination of 10 cohorts of 9-year-old girls from the government and societal perspectives.

Turnip mosaic virus in oilseed rape activates networks of sRNA-mediated interactions between viral and host genomes.

Virus-induced plant diseases in cultivated plants cause important damages in yield. Although the mechanisms of virus infection are intensely studied at the cell biology level, only little is known about the molecular dialog between the invading virus and the host genome. Here we describe a combinatorial genome-wide approach to identify networks of sRNAs-guided post-transcriptional regulation within local Turnip mosaic virus (TuMV) infection sites in Brassica napus leaves.

Sexual division of labor with females as gatherers and males as hunters is a major empirical regularity of hunter-gatherer ethnography, suggesting an ancestral behavioral pattern. We present an archeological discovery and meta-analysis that challenge the man-the-hunter hypothesis. Excavations at the Andean highland site of Wilamaya Patjxa reveal a 9000-year-old human burial (WMP6) associated with a hunting toolkit of stone projectile points and animal processing tools.
