The Neotropical region hosts 4225 freshwater fish species, ranking first among the world's most diverse regions for freshwater fishes. Our NEOTROPICAL FRESHWATER FISHES data set is the first to produce a large-scale Neotropical freshwater fish inventory, covering the entire Neotropical region from Mexico and the Caribbean in the north to the southern limits in Argentina, Paraguay, Chile, and Uruguay. We compiled 185,787 distribution records, with unique georeferenced coordinates, for the 4225 species, represented by occurrence and abundance data.

Objective: To evaluate the effects of nusinersen on respiratory function of patients with type 1 spinal muscular atrophy.

Study Design: Observational, longitudinal cohort study. We collected respiratory data from 118 children with type 1 spinal muscular atrophy and differing pulmonary requirements and conducted a semistructured qualitative interview among a subsample of caregivers at baseline, 6 months, and 10 months after the first nusinersen treatment.

Purpose: To evaluate the effect of different maintenance recall intervals in patients with chronic periodontitis treated by full-mouth ultrasonic debridement.

Materials And Methods: Twenty-eight patients participated in the study and were divided into two groups: group 1 (n = 14) underwent full-mouth ultrasonic debridement followed by monthly supportive periodontal therapy; group 2 (n = 14) underwent full-mouth ultrasonic debridement followed by supportive periodontal therapy delivered at 3-month intervals. Plaque index (PI), bleeding on probing (BOP), pocket probing depth (PD), gingival recession (GR) and clinical attachment level (CAL) were evaluated at baseline and after 3 and 6 months.
