Gastric cancer (GC) is one of the most common cancers worldwide, with increasing incidence and mortality rates. It is typically diagnosed at advanced stages, leading to a poor prognosis. GC is a highly heterogeneous disease and its progression is associated with complex interplay between genetic and environmental factors.

Background: A recent infection testing algorithm (RITA) incorporating case surveillance (CS) with the rapid test for recent HIV infection (RTRI) was integrated into HIV testing services in Thailand as a small-scale pilot project in October 2020.
Objective: We aimed to describe the lessons learned and initial outcomes obtained after the establishment of the nationwide recent HIV infection surveillance project from April through August 2022.
Methods: We conducted desk reviews, developed a surveillance protocol and manual, selected sites, trained staff, implemented surveillance, and analyzed outcomes.

Two-dimensional van der Waals (vdW) layered materials not only are an intriguing fundamental scientific research platform but also provide various applications to multifunctional quantum devices in the field-effect transistors (FET) thanks to their excellent physical properties. However, a metal-semiconductor (MS) interface with a large Schottky barrier causes serious problems for unleashing their intrinsic potentials toward the advancements in high-performance devices. Here, we show that exfoliated vdW Dirac semimetallic PtTe can be an excellent electrode for electrons in MoS FETs.

The combined microbial-plant remediation has increasingly been used to remediate heavy metal-contaminated soil. Some microorganisms could enhance phytoremediation efficiency by solubilizing heavy metal and improve plant growth by producing phytohormones in the heavy metal contaminated soils. In the present study, a strong cesium (Cs)-tolerant fungal strain was identified from soil microorganisms contaminated with Cs, and the enrichment conditions for Cs were optimized.

Flexible sensors are increasingly significant in applications such as smart wearables and human-computer interactions. However, typical flexible sensors are spatially limited and can generally detect only one deformation mode. This study presents a novel multimodal flexible sensor that combines three sensing units: optoelectronics, ionic liquids, and conductive fabrics.
