The continuing emergence of immune evasive SARS-CoV-2 variants and the previous SARS-CoV-1 outbreak collectively underscore the need for broadly protective sarbecovirus vaccines. Targeting the conserved S2 subunit of SARS-CoV-2 is a particularly promising approach to elicit broad protection. Here, we describe a nanoparticle vaccine displaying multiple copies of the SARS-CoV-1 S2 subunit.

Despite this, it is unclear how genetic diversification mechanisms evolved alongside codon optimality and affect antibody expression. Here, we analyze germline immunoglobulin (IG) genes, natural V(D)J repertoires, serum IgG, and monoclonal antibody (mAb) expression through the lens of codon optimality.

We have encountered 4 patients who have sustained second-degree skin burns after shoulder arthroscopy. The burns occurred from arthroscopic shoulder surgeries performed from 2004 to 2008.

Hip arthroscopy is a technically demanding procedure with a significant learning curve and low reported complication rate. Few reports document the incidence of venous thromboembolic disease following hip arthroscopy.

We have characterized two related kinesins in fission yeast, klp5+ and klp6+,, that are amino-terminal motors of the KIP3 subfamily. Analysis of null mutants demonstrates that neither klp5+ nor klp6+, individually or together, is essential for vegetative growth, although these mutants have altered microtubule behavior.
