All-Metal Metamaterial-Based Sensor with Novel Geometry and Enhanced Sensing Capability at Terahertz Frequency.

This research proposes an all-metal metamaterial-based absorber with a novel geometry capable of refractive index sensing in the terahertz (THz) range. The structure consists of four concentric diamond-shaped gold resonators on the top of a gold metal plate; the resonators increase in height by 2 µm moving from the outer to the inner resonators, making the design distinctive. This novel configuration has played a very significant role in achieving multiple ultra-narrow resonant absorption peaks that produce very high sensitivity when employed as a refractive index sensor.

Neratinib and the Role of Anti-HER2 Therapy in Salivary Duct Carcinoma.

Backgroud: Salivary duct carcinoma (SDC) is a rare and aggressive malignancy with a generally dismal prognosis and no standard of care established, despite a known association with epidermal growth factor receptor 2 (HER2) and androgen receptor (AR) over-expression.

Case: We report the case of a 64-year-old female with extra- and intracranial metastases of SDC with evidence of AR and HER2 overexpression. After progression on first line chemotherapy, was administered neratinib, a pan-Erb2 receptor tyrosine kinase inhibitor.

Anticancer potential of copper(i) complexes based on isopropyl ester derivatives of bis(pyrazol-1-yl)acetate ligands.

In this paper, the isopropyl ester derivatives L and L of bis(pyrazol-1-yl)acetic acid and bis(3,5-dimethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)acetic acid were used as chelators for the preparation of new Cu(i) phosphane complexes 1-4. They were synthesized by the reaction of [Cu(CHCN)]PF and triphenylphosphine or 1,3,5-triaza-7-phosphaadamantane with L and L ligands, in acetonitrile or acetonitrile/methanol solution. The authenticity of the compounds was confirmed by CHN analysis, H-, C- and P-NMR, FT-IR spectroscopy, and electrospray ionization mass spectrometry (ESI-MS).

Treatment satisfaction and effectiveness of Lurasidone on quality of life and functioning in adult patients with schizophrenia in the real-world Italian clinical practice: a prospective 3-month observational study.

Background: Although second-generation antipsychotics (SGAs) have proven to be effective therapeutic options for patients with schizophrenia, there is a notable lack of evidence on patients' subjective perspectives regarding their well-being, quality of life, and satisfaction with these medications. This study aimed to evaluate the treatment satisfaction and effectiveness of lurasidone on quality of life and functioning in adult patients with schizophrenia in real-world Italian clinical practice.

Methods: This was a multicentre, national, non-interventional, single-arm, 3-month prospective study.

Copper-Based Complexes with Adamantane Ring-Conjugated (3,5-Dimethyl-pyrazol-1-yl)acetate Ligand as Promising Agents for the Treatment of Glioblastoma.

The new ligand L, obtained by conjugating the bifunctional species bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)-acetate and the drug amantadine, was used as a chelator for the synthesis of new Cu complexes -. Their structures were investigated by synchrotron radiation-induced X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (SR-XPS), near-edge X-ray absorption fine structure (NEXAFS) spectroscopy, and by combining X-ray absorption fine structure (XAFS) spectroscopy techniques and DFT modeling. The structure of complex was determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analysis.
