Unlabelled: The iSOLVE implementation project established and evaluated integrated processes and pathways, including a decision-making tool and educational interventions for general medical practitioners (GPs) and the upskilling of allied health professionals (AHPs). The study used a mixed-methods (parallel) design comprising surveys, qualitative methodologies, and an embedded cluster randomized controlled trial (RCT). Sampling was conducted within a Primary Health Network (PHN) geographic area in Sydney, Australia.

The perspectives of people living with dementia and their carers on the role of the general practice nurse in dementia care provision: a qualitative study.

Background Models that optimise the role of the general practice nurse have the potential to deliver cost-effective best-practice dementia care in the primary care setting. Patient experience is recognised as a vital contribution to the design, provision and evaluation of healthcare services. The aim of this study was to gain insights into the healthcare needs and experiences of people living with dementia and carers as relevant to the provision of dementia care by general practice nurses.

How do geriatricians practise comprehensive geriatric assessment in the outpatient setting: an analysis of geriatricians' letters and a comparison to the Medicare benefits schedule requirement.

Background: Little is known about what components geriatricians routinely incorporate into outpatient comprehensive geriatric assessments (CGAs).

Aims: This study explored what components of CGAs are routinely incorporated into geriatricians' letters and assessed their consistency with the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and a recently published survey of geriatricians.

Methods: We completed a manual content analysis, supplemented by qualitative thematic analysis, of 34 letters from five geriatricians, collected as part of the GOAL Trial.

Introduction: Clinical practice guidelines recommend against the routine use of psychotropic medications in residential aged care facilities (RACFs). Knowledge brokers are individuals or groups who facilitate the transfer of knowledge into practice. The objective of this trial is to evaluate the effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of using knowledge brokers to translate Australia's new Clinical Practice Guidelines for the Appropriate Use of Psychotropic Medications in People Living with Dementia and in Residential Aged Care.

Access to primary eye care for people living with dementia: a call to action for primary care practitioners to 'think vision'.

Access to allied health services offers significant benefits for people living with dementia, yet access is currently fragmented and inconsistent. The 2023-2024 budget allocated AU$445million to further enable general practice-led, multidisciplinary teams, with integrated care located within practices, including employment of allied health professionals. Such team care models are recognised by The Royal Australian College of General Practitioners as vital to delivery of high-quality care for older adults.
