Background: COVID-19 convalescent plasma (CCP) is a treatment option for COVID-19. This study investigated the safety and efficacy of early, very high-titre CCP in immunocompromised individuals with mild COVID-19.
Methods: This randomised, controlled, open-label trial assessed CCP in immunocompromised patients (n = 120) with mild COVID-19 in 10 clinical trial centres across Germany, France, and the Netherlands.
The utility of halogen radicals in hydrocarbon functionalization extends from early examples of photochemical halogenation to recent reports using photoredox catalysis with iridium complexes and simple transition metal salts such as FeCl. The majority of these methods (uncatalyzed and iron-catalyzed) require UV light (λ ≤ 390 nm), and systematic efforts to enable the use of visible light remain valuable. We report the use of a simple Fe(III) salt that enables a C-H to C-C and C-N functionalization under visible light.

Steps along the method design involve the determination and optimization of several bioanalytical parameters such as selectivity, sensitivity, accuracy, and precision. In a joint effort, eight proteomics laboratories belonging to the MSCoreSys initiative including the CLINSPECT-M, MSTARS, DIASyM, and SMART-CARE consortia performed a longitudinal round-robin study to assess the analysis performance of plasma and serum as clinically relevant samples.

However, most research has been focused on a few model bacteria, overlooking bacterial diversity. In this study, we present the most extensive bacterial proteomic resource to date, covering 303 species, 119 genera, and five phyla with over 636,000 unique expressed proteins, confirming the existence of over 38,700 hypothetical proteins.
