Sea spray aerosol (SSA) is a complex mixture of natural substances that can be inhaled by coastal residents. Previous studies have suggested that SSA may have positive effects on human health, but the molecular mechanisms and the factors influencing these effects are poorly understood. In this study, we exposed human bronchial epithelial cells (BEAS-2B) to natural SSA samples, collected monthly using quartz microfiber filters mounted on tripods within 15 m of the waterline, with air drawn through pumps, throughout a one-year period at the Ostend coast, Belgium, and measured cellular gene expression changes using RNA sequencing.

Methods: Following PRISMA guidelines, a systematic review was conducted by searching PubMed, EMBASE, Web of Science, and Cochrane databases from inception to 19 June 2024. Studies regarding adult patients with histologically confirmed MB radiographically confirmed to be located in the CPA were included.
Objective: There is a paucity of data on sex-based differences in outcomes after thoracic endovascular aortic repair (TEVAR) performed for Stanford type B aortic dissections (TBAD). Examining the predictive role of sex could shape future clinical guidelines for TEVAR. Thus, this study aims to evaluate the association between sex and postoperative outcomes after TEVAR performed for TBAD.

The present study therefore focuses on what influences nonparticipation within a representative sample of the German population.
Methods: In the analysis of possible factors influencing nonparticipation, company characteristics are accounted for in addition to sociodemographic and health behaviour-related variables.

Superior mesenteric artery (SMA) pseudoaneurysm with superior mesenteric arteriovenous fistula (SMAVF) is a rare pathology associated with high rates of rupture and mortality. Known interventions for the treatment of SMA pseudoaneurysm with SMAVF include open repair or endovascular repair with coil embolization or covered stenting. To the best of our knowledge, this report is the first of physician-modified endograft for the treatment of SMA pseudoaneurysm with SMAVF after prior thrombosis, ligation, and coil embolization of the SMA.
