Background And Purpose:  We aimed to determine sex differences for periprosthetic joint infections after primary arthroplasty of the hip, knee, ankle, and shoulder in osteoarthritis patients in an international perspective.

Methods:  This is a multinational combined arthroplasty registry study. Each arthroplasty registry performed Cox-regression analysis of their data and reported the crude and adjusted hazard ratios (HR) with an a priori designed data form.

No Increased Risk of Patella-Related Revisions When Comparing Ultra-Congruent versus Cruciate-Retaining Polyethylene Liners in Primary Total Knee Arthroplasties With an Unresurfaced Patella: An Australian Registry Study of 42,105 Knee Arthroplasties.

Background: Ultra-congruent (UC) polyethylene liners are designed to add additional anterior-posterior stability in primary total knee arthroplasties (TKAs), compensating for actual or potential posterior cruciate ligament incompetence, somewhat like a posterior-stabilized knee. The literature supports patella resurfacing in primary posterior-stabilized compared to cruciate-retaining (CR) TKA due to higher revision rates with nonresurfaced patella. However, it is unclear if UC liners alter patella-related revisions.

Background: The utilization of genomic information to improve health outcomes is progressively becoming more common in clinical practice. Nonetheless, disparities persist in accessing genetic services among ethnic minorities, individuals with low socioeconomic status, and other vulnerable populations. The Rio Grande Valley (RGV) at the Texas-Mexico border is predominantly Hispanic/Latino with a high poverty rate and very limited access to genetic services.

Understanding engagement as a catalyst for leadership learning.
