Canadian Gender-Based Violence Prevention Programs: Gaps and Opportunities.

Gender-based violence (GBV) prevention programs have long played an important part in both teaching the realities of GBV and training people in techniques to avert, mitigate, and respond to violence. This article examines the current state of GBV prevention training in Canada through an analysis of 81 GBV education programs provided by antiviolence organizations and universities. We identified notable gaps in topics relating to technology-facilitated violence and abuse in programs targeting men and in the provision of bystander intervention training.

Handwriting difficulties in children with dyslexia: Poorer legibility in dictation and alphabet tasks, slowness in the alphabet task.

Several studies have shown that children with dyslexia (DYS), in addition to their reading and spelling deficits, encounter handwriting difficulties that are still poorly understood in terms of their nature and origin. The ability of biophysicists to decipher the behavior of individual biomolecules has steadily improved over the past thirty years. However, it still remains unclear how an ensemble of data acquired at the single-molecule level compares with the data acquired on an ensemble of the same molecules. We here propose an assay to tackle this question in the context of dissociation equilibrium constant measurements.

Integrated Care: A Person-Centered and Population Health Strategy for the COVID-19 Pandemic Recovery and Beyond.

The COVID-19 pandemic has mandated a re-imagination of how healthcare is administered and delivered, with a view towards focusing on person-centred care and advancing population health while increasing capacity, access and equity in the healthcare system. These goals can be achieved through healthcare integration. In 2019, the University Health Network (UHN), a consortium of four quaternary care hospitals in Ontario, Canada, established the first stage of a pilot program to increase healthcare integration at the institutional level and vertically with other primary, secondary and tertiary institutions in the Ontario healthcare system.

Unraveling multi-fixel microstructure with tractography and angular weighting.

Recent advances in MRI technology have enabled richer multi-shell sequences to be implemented in diffusion MRI, allowing the investigation of both the microscopic and macroscopic organization of the brain white matter and its complex network of neural fibers. The emergence of advanced diffusion models has enabled a more detailed analysis of brain microstructure by estimating the signal received from a voxel as the combination of responses from multiple fiber populations. However, disentangling the individual microstructural properties of different macroscopic white matter tracts where those pathways intersect remains a challenge.
