Improving the reporting of metagenomic virome-scale data.

Over the last decade metagenomic sequencing has facilitated an increasing number of virome-scale studies, leading to an exponential expansion in understanding of virus diversity. This is partially driven by the decreasing costs of metagenomic sequencing, improvements in computational tools for revealing novel viruses, and an increased understanding of the key role that viruses play in human and animal health. A central concern associated with this remarkable increase in the number of virome-scale studies is the lack of broadly accepted "gold standards" for reporting the data and results generated.

Gender- and Age-Based Differences in Nonsyndromic Arteriopathies in Younger Adults.

Aneurysms are often associated with connective tissue disorders, but most occur sporadically and are nonsyndromic. Manifestations of these nonsyndromic arteriopathies across genders and age groups have not been discussed extensively in previous studies, especially in younger cohorts. We analyzed data from 84,496 patients in the Mayo Clinic Tapestry DNA Sequencing Study, excluding those with known vascular syndromes.

A new species of sucking louse, Hoplopleura kuhnludwigi (Phthiraptera: Hoplopleuridae), from the Cape York rat Rattus leucopus cooktownensis Tate, 1951 (Rodentia: Muridae) is described and illustrated with photos and drawings. The host rat(s) were trapped in Northeast Queensland, Australia and identified using morphological characters and DNA sequencing. Hoplopleura kuhnludwigi is the first louse species to be described on R.

Imagining and implementing healthy city interventions: Combined results from parallel concept mapping exercises in Montreal with community members and stakeholders.

Objective: Built environment interventions provide structural solutions to complex urban challenges. Though community voices are part of municipal decision-making, planners and public health professionals need tools to better integrate their perspectives for desired changes (what) when implementing built environment interventions (how). We present two simultaneous concept mapping exercises conducted in Montréal, Canada, to facilitate the consideration of these dimensions.
