A series of mononuclear 3d-transition metal complexes of the type M(acpdtc)2 have been synthesized (where acpdtc=1-acetylpiperazinyldithiocarbamate, M=Mn(II), Fe(II), Co(II), Ni(II) and Cu(II)). The ligand and its complexes have been characterized by micro analysis (CHNS), TG/DSC, FT-IR, UV-vis, 1H NMR, magnetic susceptibility and conductance measurements. On the basis IR spectroscopy a symmetrical bidentate coordination has been observed for the 1-acetylpiperazinyldithiocarbamate moiety in all the complexes.

Isoprene is a dominant constituent of the global biogenic volatile organic compounds budget. It plays an important role in regulating the atmospheric trace gas composition including tropospheric ozone concentrations. In this study, monthly measurements of isoprene emission rates were carried out over a 1-year period (December 2002-November 2003) from four Indian deciduous tree species, namely Ficus relegiosa, Ficus infectoria, Pongamia pinnata, and Morus alba, using branch enclosure method.

Dynamic flow enclosure technique was used and the gas samples were collected onto Tenax-GC/Carboseive cartridges. The Tenax-GC/Carboseive cartridges were attached to the thermal disorber sample injection system and the gas sample was analysed using gas chromatography (GC) with flame ionisation detection (FID).
