The Ministry of Health and Welfare's "Pilot Program of Home Care for Acute Symptoms", launched in 2024, and complementary measures for long-term care services are introduced in this article. The goal of the pilot program is to provide appropriate home medical care to specific emergency patients as an alternative to hospitalization, allowing the extension of emergency care from hospitals to home and residential institutions and connecting long-term care resources during and after acute care. Given that many of those targeted by the pilot program are individuals with mobility issues or who require long-term care, and thus subject to higher levels of treatment difficulty and care service demand, the Ministry has relaxed the rules initially set for this program.

It remains a challenge for a simple and scalable method to fabricate ultrathin porous Janus membranes for stretchable on-skin electronics. Here, we propose a one-step droplet spreading phase separation strategy to prepare an ultrathin and easily collected Janus thermoplastic polyurethane (TPU) membrane within seconds. The metal-ion solvation structure mitigated migration kinetics to delay TPU solution demixing, promoting the further penetration of the coagulating solvent.

Background: Calcific aortic valve disease is the pathological remodeling of valve leaflets. The initial steps in valve leaflet osteogenic reprogramming are not fully understood. As TERT (telomerase reverse transcriptase) overexpression primes mesenchymal stem cells to differentiate into osteoblasts, we investigated whether TERT contributes to the osteogenic reprogramming of valve interstitial cells.

Bioplastics, particularly polyhydroxyalkanoates (PHAs), are emerging as promising alternatives to traditional materials due to their biodegradability. This study focuses on the production of PHAs as bioplastics using effluent from hydrogen production in a two-stage Biohythane Pilot Plant, which provides a low-cost substrate. The aim is to optimize production conditions, with Cupriavidus necator TISTR 1335 being used as the PHA producer.

Zero-valent iron (ZVI) has demonstrated high potential for in-situ remediation of contaminated groundwater and soils. Upon exposure to oxygen, ZVI generates reactive oxygen species (ROS). In parallel with the electron transfer mediated-reductive path, ROS plays a critical role in the oxidative degradation of organic pollutants during ZVI remediation of groundwater and soil.
