Background And Objectives: Older adults living with a disability (LWD) face both ageism and ableism, but there are few interventions to address this significant and growing social problem.
Research Design And Methods: Drawing on the Positive Education about Aging and Contact Experiences model, 3 online studies involved participants randomly assigned to watch 4 brief online videos providing education about aging and disability and exposure to positive contact between younger adults and older adults/older adults LWD (experimental condition) or videos about interior design (control condition). Studies 1 (community sample) and 2 (university sample) included an immediate posttest whereas Study 3 (2 university samples) additionally included a pretest and delayed posttest.
Beckwith-Wiedemann spectrum (BWSp) is caused by genetic and epigenetic alterations on chromosome 11 that regulate cell growth and division. Considering the diverse phenotypic landscape in BWSp, the characterization of the CDKN1C molecular subtype remains relatively limited. Here, we investigate the role of CDKN1C in the broader BWSp phenotype.

Bacterial obligate intracellular parasites (BOIPs) represent an exclusive group of bacterial pathogens that all depend on invasion of a eukaryotic host cell to reproduce. BOIPs are characterized by extensive adaptation to their respective replication niches, regardless of whether they replicate within the host cell cytoplasm or within specialized replication vacuoles. Genome reduction is also a hallmark of BOIPs that likely reflects streamlining of metabolic processes to reduce the need for biosynthesis of energetically costly metabolic intermediates.

The winter tick, (Ixodidae), commonly infests a wide variety of wild and domestic ungulates throughout North America. This one-host-tick infests animals from October to April, with moose () particularly affected. Animals highly infested may present with anemia, tick-induced alopecia, and alterations in thermoregulation, often resulting in death Mortality from winter tick infestation has been reported in free-ranging woodland caribou () and captive reindeer in Alberta, Canada.

Current literature suggests these executive functions occur via diverse and highly interconnected neural networks, including top-down, bottom-up, and conflict-control loops. To investigate the spatiotemporal activity of these processes, we collected neuromagnetic data using magnetoencephalography (MEG) in 28 healthy adults (age 19-36), while they performed a computerized Stroop task based on color naming.
