Personalized circulating tumor DNA analysis for sensitive disease monitoring and detection of relapse in neuroblastoma.

Circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) has shown potential as a non-invasive tumor biomarker in neuroblastoma. Previous studies used generic assays for detection of selected predefined oncogenic variants as markers of ctDNA, which limits the sensitivity and excludes a subset of patients from analysis. Here we assessed patient-specific ctDNA analysis for treatment evaluation and detection of relapse in neuroblastoma.

Sex Differences in Health-Related Quality of Life in Patients With Head and Neck Cancer-A Prospective Study.

Objective: To analyse sex differences in health-related quality of life (HRQL) before, during and up to 3 months posttreatment of head and neck cancer, and to examine the importance of salivary secretion rate for HRQL posttreatment.

Methods: Patients were recruited before starting curative oncologic treatment. Clinical examinations were performed including determination of the stimulated salivary secretion rate.

Preclinical development of SGN-CD47M: Protease-activated antibody technology enables selective tumor targeting of the innate immune checkpoint receptor CD47.

CD47 is a cell surface glycoprotein that is expressed on normal human tissues and has a key role as a marker of self. Tumor cells have coopted CD47 overexpression to evade immune surveillance and thus blockade of CD47 is a highly active area of clinical exploration in oncology. However, clinical development of CD47-targeted agents has been complicated by its robust expression in normal tissues and the toxicities that arise from blocking this inhibitory signal.
