Inspired by natural microbial cooperation, a co-culture approach was used to synthesize bacterial nanocellulose (BNC)-based nanocomposites for potential wound healing applications. By co-culturing either Komagataeibacter xylinus (K1G4) or the never tested strain K. rhaeticus (K2G46) with the hyaluronic acid (HA)-producer Lacticaseibacillus casei UMCC 2535, two BNC-HA nanocomposites were obtained (C1-K1 and C2-K2).

Methods And Results: Since the success of phage treatment in food depends on maintaining phage viability towards different food conditions, firstly the stability of phage phSE-5 at different temperatures and pHs was assessed. The effect of phage phSE-5 against S.
Pastry products constitute a significant segment of the food market. However, the high amount of fat used in their production poses a challenge when competing for the attention of modern consumers, who are more conscious of the health problems associated with the consumption of high-fat products. With this in mind, the main objective of this study is the reduction of the total fat and saturated fat contents of two bakery products, brioche-type bread and rice cake, by partial substitution of the main fat source with lipid extracts obtained through non-thermal high-pressure extraction (HPE).

Background And Aims: HeartMate 3 (HM3), a fully magnetically levitated ventricular assist device (LVAD), has been associated with reduced thromboembolic events compared to HeartMate II. However, bleeding events remained significant. Among patients undergoing HM3 implantation, the standard antithrombotic regimen comprises both warfarin and aspirin (ASA), but there is a lack of evidence on the optimum antithrombotic therapy.
