Ascochyta blight, caused by the necrotrophic fungus Ascochyta rabiei, is a major threat to chickpea production worldwide. Resistance genes with broad-spectrum protection against virulent A. rabiei strains are required to secure chickpea yield in the US Northern Great Plains.

There has been debate over the use of "homeless" as a descriptor of people experiencing homelessness (PEH), as it is a potentially biased term with negative connotations. This study explores the relationship between the use of the word "homeless" in Emergency Department (ED) provider documentation and admission rates, as well as intravenous (IV) vs.

Prior studies of acupuncture in the ED reported pain reduction with minimal side effects, but most were small and single site.
Methods: We conducted ACUITY, a prospectively designed multi-center feasibility RCT.
Tumor lysis syndrome (TLS) is the destruction of tumor cells, causing the release of intracellular contents, including but not limited to uric acid, phosphate, and potassium. This can manifest with significant physiologic abnormalities, such as life-threatening acute kidney injury. Although TLS is usually caused by the initiation of cytotoxic chemotherapy, it may also occur spontaneously, particularly in high-grade malignancies with high tumor burden and/or rapid cell turnover.

Using cord blood from neonates with and without congenital HCMV (cCMV) infection, we identify an expansion of Fcγ receptor III-expressing (FcγRIII-expressing) CD8+ T cells following HCMV exposure in utero. Most FcγRIII+CD8+ T cells express the canonical αβ T cell receptor (TCR), but a proportion express noncanonical γδ TCR.
