Background: Plasma AST and ALT may reflect the nonalcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD) severity and have been associated with the risk of MetS in middle- or old-aged individuals.
Aims: This study aimed to examine the associations of plasma hepatic aspartate and alanine transaminases (AST and ALT) levels with incident metabolic syndrome (MetS) in young adults, which have not been verified before.
Objective: The goal of this study was to identify the association between plasma hepatic transaminases and the incidence of new-onset MetS among young adults.
Introduction: Nipple-sparing mastectomy (NSM) aims to improve patient satisfaction by preserving the nipple-areola complex (NAC) while ensuring oncologic safety. Different surgical incisions, such as inframammary fold (IMF) and periareolar/radial incisions, are used in NSM; however, their impact on NAC sensory loss remains unclear. In this study, the authors aimed to assess NAC sensation after NSM and compare the results of different incisional approaches, specifically IMF versus periareolar/radial.

Sleep spindles are prominent thalamocortical brain oscillations during sleep that have been mechanistically linked to sleep-dependent memory consolidation in animal models and healthy controls. Sleep spindles are decreased in RE and related sleep-activated epileptic encephalopathies.
