Multiple sclerosis (MS) is associated with complex abnormalities of immunoregulation and a role of autoimmunity in its pathogenesis has been accepted. MS is reportedly associated with several autoimmune diseases, but few studies are available on the prevalence of organ-specific autoantibodies in this condition. The aim of this study was to assess the frequency of anti-thyroglobulin (TgAb), anti-thyroid microsomal (MAb) and gastric parietal cell (PCA) antibodies in 113 patients (63 females, 50 males, age ranging 15-62 years) with MS and in 51 neurological controls.

The Authors present the linked effects of the diseases of the choreaic, parkinsonian, spinalcerebral series with those disturbances of psychic and neurovegetative nature. The discuss the difficulties of nosological grouping that this type of case presents. They conclude by affirming that in hereditary generative illnesses, as a result of the infinite number of combinations of possible symptoms and of the existence of many subdued forms, it is often of little use a forced categorization of cases into a particular clinical form.

Liquor and serum at the same time were examined in 61 subjects suffering from neurological diseases. Stress is laid on the dosage of IgG and albumina in liquor as well as in serum. The results obtained are considered as useful to the diagnosis in various diseases of the nervous system.
