View Article and Find Full Text PDFThe effectiveness of four different fixation devices in the treatment of pertrochanteric fractures of the femur were evaluated in 147 patients. Based on long-term clinical and radiographic evaluation of cases, it is observed that although the screw plates, Ender nails, and gamma nail provide satisfactory results in the treatment of such fractures, each of these with its own indications, the more recent PFN nail, because of its features, seems to adapt best to the needs of the orthopaedist.
