In Liberia, children are exposed to multiple forms of adversity which can negatively impact their health and development. Research is needed to examine the feasibility and benefits of integrated interventions that can be incorporated into existing health delivery programs to simultaneously address low responsive stimulation, undernutrition, and infection. This study assessed the feasibility of an integrated intervention promoting psychosocial stimulation and improved child feeding by the provision of eggs and fish.

Objective: To identify and map antibiotic use targets in European general practice and explore if and how these targets are linked to NAPs.
Methods: A systematic search was carried out in MEDLINE (OVID), EMBASE and SCOPUS, with additional manual searches.

The intracellular environment of skeletal muscle can develop pronounced hyperthermia and acidosis during strenuous exercise, and these alterations in the typical intracellular conditions have been shown to alter mitochondrial respiration. However, the impact of these conditions on ATP synthesis is poorly understood. We used Thoroughbred racehorses to test the hypothesis that both hyperthermia and acidosis decrease the rate of ATP synthesis, but that athletic conditioning mitigates this loss of phosphorylation capacity.

The purpose of this study was to revalidate these guidelines in a cohort of patients receiving helical intensity-modulated radiotherapy (H-IMRT) compared to a historical cohort who received primarily 3D-conformal radiotherapy. Eligible patients attending the RBWH H&N MDT between 2013 and 2014 (n = 315) were assessed by the guidelines, with high-risk patients being recommended proactive gastrostomy tube placement.

The NOL-Nociception Level Index is a multiparameter index, based on artificial intelligence for the monitoring of nociception (physiological pain response) during anesthesia that has recently been authorized by the FDA. The monitor utilizes continuous streams of information from a finger probe comprising four sensors, including photoplethysmography, to provide a personalized nociception score on a scale of 0-100. Recent studies have suggested racial bias in pulse oximeter measurements due to the effect of melanin levels on photoplethysmography measurements.
