Regional and global environmental challenges have become increasingly complex and require broader solutions than a single discipline can provide. Although there is a growing need for interdisciplinary research, many graduate education programs still train students within the confines of a particular discipline or specialty. The Ridge 2 Reef research traineeship program at the University of California, Irvine, aimed to provide transferable and interdisciplinary skill training to prepare graduate students from different disciplines to address current and future environmental challenges.

Pediatric GT studies differ meaningfully from adult GT studies as the decision to participate involves a dyad: the child participant and their caregiver(s). As a multistakeholder group of authors, we are a diverse group with expert perspectives on the social, emotional, physical, and logistical burdens/benefits of trial participation and the myriad ways they affect pediatric GT research.

Although the disease classically presents as massive painless lymphadenopathy in young adults, RDD can also involve the central nervous system in some patients. CNS lesions, can cause headaches, neurologic deficits, and even neurologic deficits.
