Methods: Online national quantitative survey across England analysed using descriptive statistics.
Background: Higher educational institutions strive to recruit and retain student nurses into pre-registration programmes to support a sustainable nursing workforce. Attrition rates for student nurses are high and escalating, with around one in three nursing students in the United Kingdom failing to complete their degree programmes. Risk factors for student attrition include the attributes students bring to their study environment, as well as their behaviours and academic outputs.

Aim: This study aimed to explore the impact of COVID-19 on nursing students undertaking clinical placements across the UK, particularly the extent to which nursing education prior to and during COVID-19 had prepared them for placements, and to distil key messages for future nursing education.
Regulatory agencies worldwide have taken significant steps to expedite approval and market authorization of medicines based on their potential to address areas of significant unmet medical need and severe disease burden. However, initial approval of such medicines is often accompanied by limited evidence of benefit, posing a conundrum for payers and health systems who may desire greater certainty of their value. This paper describes a system of "accelerated access" to manage these tensions and coordinate activities across stakeholders, based on discussions held at a multi-stakeholder convening in June 2023.
