Background: Frail older adults with chronic kidney disease (CKD) have complex care needs, and their priorities may differ from those assumed by healthcare providers. Understanding their goals is crucial to delivering person-centred care. This study aimed to identify and categorize the goals of this population and determine any association with participants' frailty status, quality of life, and CKD stage.

Identifying strategies for disseminating research to patients with chronic kidney disease and caregivers: a workshop report.

Health research results are primarily disseminated through scientific peer-reviewed journals and are not readily accessible to patients and caregivers, which can impede informed decision-making and limit the impact of research on patient outcomes. The aim of the workshop was to identify strategies to disseminate research in chronic kidney disease (CKD) to patients and caregivers. The workshop involved patients, caregivers (n = 27), and health professionals (n = 54) from Australia (10 breakout groups).

Background: Older adults are more likely to have multiple chronic conditions, be prescribed multiple medications, and be more susceptible to adverse drug reactions (ADRs) to their medications. In addition, older adults often use over-the-counter medications and supplements, further complicating their medication regimens. Complex medication regimens are potentially harmful to older adults.

A Global Survey of Self-Reported Cancer Screening Practices by Health Professionals for Kidney Transplant Candidates and Recipients.

Cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality in kidney transplant recipients. Health professionals have a critical role in promoting cancer screening participation. From March 2023 to February 2024, an online survey was distributed to kidney transplant health professionals globally to assess their screening practices.
