A simple electrocardiographic model for an improved detection of chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension after pulmonary embolism.

Introduction: Chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension (CTEPH) is considered a late sequelae of a preceding pulmonary embolism (PE). There is reasonable suspicion that the majority of CTEPH patients are currently not detected. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the potential utility of a simple electrocardiographic (ECG) model for an improved detection of CTEPH after PE.

The aims of the present study were to explore the diagnostic accuracy of ECG parameters for the diagnosis of PH, applying the recently adjusted mean pulmonary artery pressure (mPAP) threshold of >20 mmHg, and to determine the role of "R V1, V2 + S I, aVL - S V1". : Between July 2012 and November 2023, 100 patients without PH, with pulmonary arterial hypertension, or with chronic thromboembolic pulmonary hypertension were retrospectively enrolled.

Music medicine and music therapy in neonatal care: a scoping review of passive music listening research applications and findings on infant development and medical practice.

Background: In recent years, the use of music as a therapeutic and developmental tool for infants, especially within neonatal intensive care units (NICUs), has seen a surge in interest. Despite a growing body of research underscoring the potential benefits of music therapy and music medicine in enhancing infant development and aiding medical practices, the specific characteristics of music that maximize these benefits remain poorly understood.

Objectives: This scoping review aims to provide a comprehensive foundation by mapping the existing literature on passive music listening and identifying gaps, trends, and patterns that are crucial precursors to the development of best practices.

The Neurohospitalist Core Competencies comprise a set of competency-based learning objectives that encapsulate the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of neurohospitalitists who specialize in the care of hospitalized patients with neurologic conditions. These competencies serve to characterize the rapidly expanding field of neurohospitalist medicine. The 27 chapters are divided into 3 sections entitled: neurological conditions, clinical interventions and interpretation of ancillary studies, and neurohospitalist role in the healthcare system.

Background And Purpose: Neurohospitalists specialize in the care of hospitalized patients with neurological conditions. As the neurohospitalist model of patient care has grown rapidly and in diverse ways, there has been increasing demand for a formal definition of the field, particularly to support curriculum development for learners at multiple levels.

Methods: The Neurohospitalist Society (NHS) formed a Core Competencies Committee in 2021.
