Percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty for acute myocardial infarction: the impact on sexual function in men.

The aim of this study was to evaluate changes in men's sexual function after percutaneous transluminal coronary angioplasty (PTCA) treatment for acute myocardial infarction (MI). Sixty men aged 18-70 years old were included in the study. All patients had acute MI and underwent PTCA.

[High effectiveness of the method with cefpirome in detection of extended-spectrum beta-lactamases in different species of gram-negative bacilli].

Gram-negative bacilli were examined for ESBL production by using four methods: double-disc synergy diffusion test (DDST), and three tests of combined discs with cefpodoxime, ceftazidime and cefotaxime alone and the same cephalosporins with clavulanic acid. Strains determined as ESBL-negative with all these tests were examined by using fifth method with cefpirome. 47,5% from 178 negative in other methods strains, appeared ESBL-positive in this test.
