Temporal and spatial aggregation of rainfall extremes over India under anthropogenic warming.

India experienced several unprecedented floods in the recent decades. The increase in the extreme rainfall events (EREs) is the primary cause for these floods, manifesting its societal impacts. The daily downscaled and bias corrected (DBC) Coupled Model Intercomparison Project Phase 6 (CMIP6) rainfall and sea surface temperature (SST) are prepared for the Indian region and are utilized to examine the characteristics of EREs.

Implementation of a 1-Day Living Kidney Donor Evaluation Program: A Qualitative Analysis of Donor Candidate and Stakeholder Perspectives.

Introduction: A lengthy donor evaluation process hinders living donor kidney transplantation (LDKT). At The Ottawa Hospital, 1-day evaluation process was recently developed, with a goal to accelerate the determination of donor suitability. The major objective of this study was to solicit feedback from donor candidates and key stakeholders who participated in the 1-day living kidney donor evaluation process, to determine the program's acceptability and factors influencing its implementation elsewhere.

Improvement in the skill of CMIP6 decadal hindcasts for extreme rainfall events over the Indian summer monsoon region.

Decadal climate predictions have been widely used to predict the near-term climate information relevant for decision-making at multi-year timescales. In the present study, we evaluate the quality of the Coupled Model Intercomparison Project phase-6 (CMIP6) Decadal Climate Prediction Project (DCPP) hindcasts in capturing the extreme rainfall events (EREs) over the monsoon core region during Indian summer monsoon season (June-September) up to lead years 1-10. For the first time, in this study, we have used quantile mapping approach to downscale and bias correct the DCPP CMIP6 simulation/hindcast rainfall for the better representation of EREs.

Visually guided reaching is a common motor behavior that engages subcortical circuits to mediate rapid corrections. Although these neural mechanisms have evolved for interacting with the physical world, they are often studied in the context of reaching toward virtual targets on a screen. These targets often change position by disappearing from one place reappearing in another instantaneously.
