Laser interstitial thermal therapy (LITT) is a minimally invasive procedure used to treat a lesion through light irradiation and consequent temperature increase. Magnetic resonance thermometry imaging (MRTI) provides a multidimensional measurement of the temperature inside the target, thus enabling accurate monitoring of the damaged zone during the procedure. In proton resonance frequency shift-based thermometry, artifacts in the images may strongly interfere with the estimated temperature maps.

Magnetic Resonance Thermometry Imaging (MRTI) holds great potential in laser ablation (LA) monitoring. It provides the real-time multidimensional visualization of the treatment effect inside the body, thus enabling accurate intraoperative prediction of the thermal damage induced. Despite its great potential.

Article Synopsis
  • This study aimed to analyze the brain MRI and FDG-PET/CT findings in 112 COVID-19 patients with neurological issues during recovery, focusing on changes over time and cognitive outcomes.
  • Initial MRIs revealed various complications, including brain swelling and strokes, while some conditions showed stabilization or improvement during follow-up; however, 13% developed new issues post-recovery.
  • Overall, although most patients improved, a small percentage faced new complications, and there was an observed 3.2% loss in grey matter volume during an average follow-up of five months.

Background: Syncope in patients with an early repolarization (ER) pattern presents a challenge for clinicians as it has been identified as an indicator of a higher risk of life-threatening ventricular arrhythmias (VAs).

Objectives: This study aimed to analyze the outcome of patients with an ER pattern and syncope and to evaluate the factors predictive of VAs.

Methods: Over a period of 5 years, we enrolled 143 patients with an ER pattern and syncope in a multicenter prospective registry.
