Background: Immunohistochemical (IHC) assessment of programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-L1) in non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) has become important since the development of anti-PD-1/-PD-L1 directed drugs. Various PD-L1 antibodies and cut-offs have been used in different trials to predict response to these drugs, thus comparison of those studies is difficult. Methods: We retrospectively analyzed all patients treated by transurethral resection of bladder tumors (TUR-B) for UCB between 1992-2004 in a single-center. Disease recurrence (≥pTa UCB) and absent tumor in histopathology, assessed by TUR-B with a non-malignant result for endoscopic suspect bladder lesion displayed endpoints.
Purpose: To determine whether the immunohistochemical markers survivin and E-cadherin can predict progress at initially diagnosed Ta bladder cancer.
Methods: We retrospectively searched for every initially diagnosed pTa urothelial bladder carcinoma having been treated at our single-center hospital in Germany from January 1992 up to December 2004. Follow-up was recorded up to June 2010, with recurrence or progress being the endpoints.
Objective: Outcome prediction of pT3 urothelial carcinoma of the bladder (UCB) after radical cystectomy (RC) remains challenging. The objective of our study was to determine high-risk patients with poor survival outcome in a heterogeneous group substaged pT3 who might profit from early adjuvant chemotherapy.
Materials And Methods: We compiled clinicopathological and immunohistochemical data of E-cadherin (E-cad) expression in 116 patients with pT3 UCB after RC in our single-center series.
Objectives: The so-called "globulomaxillary cyst", described as a fissural cyst, caused by entrapped epithelium between the nasal and maxillary process, is no longer considered for its own entity. Nevertheless, cystic lesions, which correspond to the previous image of globulomaxillary cysts, do still occur in daily practice. This raises the question to which entities pathological processes in this particular region actually belong to.
