Background: Ampullary carcinoma (AC) is a rare and severe gastrointestinal cancer with a disease recurrence rate of around 40% after curative-intent surgery and for which the main prognostic factors and adjuvant treatment decision remain a matter of debate.

Patients And Methods: The FFCD-AC cohort is a French nationwide prospective cohort, which included patients with non-metastatic resected AC. The primary objective of this study was to describe prognostic factors associated with disease-free survival (DFS) and overall survival (OS) after pancreaticoduodenectomy (PD) so as to propose a user-friendly score to better estimate the risk of recurrence.

Some achiral cyanine dyes form well-ordered chiral assemblies exhibiting pronounced Circular Dichroism (CD) and Circularly Polarized Luminescence (CPL). Notably, achiral C8O3 cyanines self-assemble into tubular J-aggregates, which further organize into bundles displaying bisignate CD spectrum - hallmark of an exciton coupled system - and an unusual bisignated CPL. In contrast, the tubular aggregates display a monosignate CD spectrum.

Telomere-to-telomere (T2T) assemblies reveal new insights into the structure and function of the previously 'invisible' parts of the genome and allow comparative analyses of complete genomes across entire clades. We present here an open collaborative effort, termed the 'Ruminant T2T Consortium' (RT2T), that aims to generate complete diploid assemblies for numerous species of the Artiodactyla suborder Ruminantia to examine chromosomal evolution in the context of natural selection and domestication of species used as livestock.

Polaritonic chemistry is emerging as a powerful approach to modifying the properties and reactivity of molecules and materials. However, probing how the electronics and dynamics of molecular systems change under strong coupling has been challenging due to the narrow range of spectroscopic techniques that can be applied in situ. Here we develop microfluidic optical cavities for vibrational strong coupling (VSC) that are compatible with nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy using standard liquid NMR tubes.

Background: Catheter-associated urinary tract infections (CAUTIs) due to multidrug-resistant Gram-negative bacilli (GNB) is a common concern globally. Investigating the incidence of CAUTI and associated antibiotic resistance has paramount importance from the health care associated infections perspective. This study therefore assessed the incidence of CAUTIs due to GNB and the production of extended-spectrum beta-lactamase (ESBL) and carbapenemase among inpatients in specialized hospitals of Northwest, Ethiopia.
