Far-infrared laser lines in vinyl fluoride optically pumped by a CO(2) laser near 10 microm.

Sixty-two new emission lines in the far infrared have been observed in vinyl fluoride optically pumped in a metallicwaveguide resonator by a CO(2) laser. The emission spectrum for this molecule now covers the 2.52-mm-142-microm wavelength range.

Continuous-wave Stark far-infrared lasing lines in (15)NH(3) optically pumped by a CO(2) or N(2)O laser.

We report preliminary results of a systematic research of far-infrared (FIR) emissions in (15)NH(3) by Stark-tuning the infrared-pumped transitions to the CO(2) or N(2)O laser lines; 28 new FIR lasing lines have been detected for static-electric fields up to 62 kV/cm.

Construction of parallel grids acting as semitransparent flat mirrors in the far infrared.

The construction of metallic wired grids used as semitransparent mirrors is described. The reflectance of such grids varies widely with the polarization direction of the beam. The measured characteristics are compared with those calculated.
