Background: Factors associated with nonadherence to guideline-recommended complete excision of suspicious cutaneous lesions are unclear.

Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze patient, melanoma, and clinician factors associated with initial diagnostic biopsy type and determine whether unwarranted variation from guidelines occurred.

Methods: This population-based, cohort study involved the analysis of data from questionnaires completed by clinicians who managed patients with newly diagnosed, histopathologically confirmed primary invasive cutaneous melanomas reported to the New South Wales Cancer Registry between 2006 and 2007.

E-cigarette use (or vaping) is widespread in young people and is a rapidly growing public health problem. While the tobacco and vaping industry has promoted vaping as a smoking cessation aid for adults, the industry has strategically targeted young people through marketing and appealing designs to orientate a new generation of consumers to use their products. These strategies are not new and replicate what we have previously seen employed by the tobacco industry in past decades to maintain and grow their tobacco profits.

Objective: Mental health problems and vocational disengagement are often linked for young people in a self-reinforcing cycle. Integrated Individual Placement and Support (IPS) services can help to not only overcome educational/vocational challenges but also improve mental wellbeing.

Methods: In a matched cohort study, we compared improvement rates in mental health and wellbeing outcomes for young people aged 15 to 25 who had received at least two integrated IPS services with those who had received standard youth mental health services only.
