Populations of Ozark hellbenders (Cryptobranchus alleganiensis bishopi, Grobman 1943) in Missouri and Arkansas are federally listed as endangered. The Saint Louis Zoo WildCare Institute's Ron and Karen Goellner Center for Hellbender Conservation, in collaboration with the Missouri Department of Conservation and US Fish and Wildlife Service, has developed a sustainable conservation breeding and head-starting program, a priority for species recovery. Using 9 years of program data, we examined various egg production, egg development, and mortality responses of Zoo-bred Ozark hellbenders.

Digital media are becoming increasingly influential in society, especially among the younger generation. Therefore, an augmented reality (AR) app was developed that simulates experiments with radioactive sources. The app runs experiments on the range and penetration power of alpha, beta and gamma radiation.

The effect of clopidogrel on platelet activity in patients with and without type-2 diabetes mellitus: a comparative study.

Background: Although antiplatelet therapy involving clopidogrel is a standard treatment for preventing cardiovascular events after coronary stent implantation, patients can display differential responses. Here, we assessed the effectiveness of clopidogrel on platelet function inhibition in subjects with and without type-2 diabetes and stable coronary artery disease. In addition, we investigated the correlation between platelet function and routine clinical parameters.
