This study explores the critical challenges the livestock sector faces, particularly those related to biosecurity, animal welfare, and antibiotic use restrictions. It highlights the need to implement advanced information and communication technologies to enhance operational sustainability and decision-making. We introduce the Biorisk External platform, a cloud-based visit control system designed to optimize biosecurity management by accurately tracking visitor activity through QR codes and GPS geolocation.

Adequate nutritional management in maternities is one of the most challenging aspects of swine production. This study reports the results of two studies aiming to determine, under commercial farm conditions, the effects of precision feeding (electronic sow feeders, ESFs) on the production and economic yields of lactating sows and possible nutritional and metabolic differences when compared to a control group fed with traditional feeders. The first trial showed that sows fed with ESFs weaned heavier piglets than sows fed with traditional feeders.

Objectives: People living with HIV face several challenges as they age, including the potential for polypharmacy and increased susceptibility to drug-related adverse effects. Thus, effective and well-tolerated regimens with minimal or no drug interactions would be useful in this population. We present real-world effectiveness and safety data for individuals aged >50 years who achieved virological suppression (HIV-1 RNA <50 copies/mL) and switched to dolutegravir/lamivudine (DTG/3TC).

Results: In this work, we introduce the new VeryFastTree code (version 4.
