A hybrid alginate hydrogel-chitosan nanoparticle system suitable for biomedical applications was prepared. Chitosan (CS) was used as a matrix for the encapsulation of lavender () essential oil (LEO) and Mentha () essential oil (MEO). An aqueous solution of an acidic Natural Deep Eutectic Solvent (NADES), namely choline chloride/ascorbic acid in a 2:1 molar ratio, was used to achieve the acidic environment for the dissolution of chitosan and also played the role of the ionic gelator for the preparation of the chitosan nanoparticles (CS-NPs).

The aim of the present study was to stratify ββ patient blood samples in a severity-dependent manner. Blood from thirty-two patients with HbS/β-thalassemia compound heterozygosity was examined for several parameters (e.

Methods And Materials: We used the GATE Monte Carlo package (GEANT4 application for tomographic emission) and the reconstructed images were obtained using the software for tomographic image reconstruction (STIR), with cluster computing. The PET scanner used in this simulation study was the General Electric Discovery-ST (USA).
Dual energy methods can suppress the contrast between adipose and glandular tissues in the breast and therefore enhance the visibility of calcifications. In this study, a dual energy method based on analytical modeling was developed for the detection of minimum microcalcification thickness. To this aim, a modified radiographic X-ray unit was considered, in order to overcome the limited kVp range of mammographic units used in previous DE studies, combined with a high resolution CMOS sensor (pixel size of 22.

The prepared samples contained various amounts of each transition metal but almost the same total metal loading. They were characterized by atomic absorption spectroscopy, N2 adsorption, UV-vis diffuse reflectance spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, and tested for the selective catalytic reduction of NO by NH3 in the temperature range 250-450 degrees C.
