Drug-induced sleep endoscopy (DISE), performed in the operating room, improves airway obstruction phenotyping in obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS). It pharmacologically approximates human sleep and allows dynamic maneuvers, notably including mandibular advancement, the results of which are predictive of those with a mandibular advancement device (MAD): when obstruction is resolved by mandibular advancement under DISE, a MAD may be indicated. However, individual maximal mandibular advancement in the waking state has to be taken into account, and the MAD should not exceed 75% of this value (MA75), in order to respect temporomandibular joint tolerance.

Despite their intensive use and their impact on ecosystems, biocides and surfactants are still poorly regulated and poorly monitored at large scale. In the frame of the revision of the national regulatory surveillance plan of surface waters, France planned in 2018 a monitoring campaign at national scale focused on these two types of substances of very emerging concern. Forty-nine contaminants (32 biocides and 17 surfactants) were investigated in surface water and sediment samples from 91 sampling sites, and in effluent and sludge samples of 7 wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), in mainland France and overseas regions.

Although different vaccines are available against BRSV, their efficiency remains limited, and no efficient and large-scale treatment exists. Here, we developed a new reverse genetics system for BRSV expressing the red fluorescent protein mCherry, based on a field strain isolated from a sick calf in Sweden.

It converts 2-C-methyl-d-erythritol-2,4-cyclo-diphosphate (MEcPP) into (E)-4-hydroxy-3-methyl-but-2-enyl-1-diphosphate (HMBPP). The reaction, assimilated to a reductive dehydration, involves redox partners responsible for the formal transfer of two electrons to substrate MEcPP.
