Background: The use of rivaroxaban in clinical practice often deviates from manufacturer prescribing information. No studies have demonstrated an association between this practice and improved outcomes. Methods: We used the RIETE registry to assess the clinical characteristics of patients with pulmonary embolism (PE) who received off-label rivaroxaban, and to compare their 3-month outcomes with those receiving the labeled therapy.

A comprehensive analysis of cost of an active surveillance cohort compared to radical prostatectomy as primary treatment for prostate cancer.

Introduction: Active surveillance (AS) seems to be a cost-effective strategy. However, most publications are based on simulation models of theoretical cohorts, and long-term implications are not usually considered.

Objective: To assess the real cost differences of two cohorts of men with low-risk prostate cancer (PCa) treated with AS or laparoscopic radical prostatectomy (LRP) in a public health system.

Cohort study comparing prostate photovaporisation with XPS 180W and HPS 120W laser.

Introduction And Objective: Prostate photovaporisation with Greenlight laser for the surgical treatment of benign prostate hyperplasia has rapidly evolve to the new XPS 180W. We have previously demonstrated the safety and efficacy of the HPS 120W. The aim of this study was to assess the functional and safety results, with a year of follow-up, of photovaporisation using the XPS 180W laser compared with its predecessor.

A Multicenter Randomized Noninferiority Trial Comparing GreenLight-XPS Laser Vaporization of the Prostate and Transurethral Resection of the Prostate for the Treatment of Benign Prostatic Obstruction: Two-yr Outcomes of the GOLIATH Study.

Background: The GOLIATH study is a 2-yr trial comparing transurethral resection of prostate (TURP) to photoselective vaporization with the GreenLight XPS Laser System (GL-XPS) for the treatment of benign prostatic obstruction (BPO). Noninferiority of GL-XPS to TURP was demonstrated based on a 6-mo follow-up from the study.

Objective: To determine whether treatment effects observed at 6 mo between GL-XPS and TURP was maintained at the 2-yr follow-up.

Changes in Gleason score grading on serial follow-up biopsies in prostate cancer patients undergoing active surveillance.

Introduction: Active surveillance for prostate cancer has grown systematically in the recent years with more robust mid-term outcomes. However, changes in Gleason score during serial biopsies are not detailed in many of these reports.

Objectives: To evaluate changes in Gleason score on follow-up biopsies in low-risk prostate cancer in patients undergoing AS program in our center.
