Introduction: Patients' perceptions of healthcare quality have become an important part of quality measurement. We explored patients' and family's lived experiences during acute stroke hospitalization to develop a quantitative instrument.

Spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma with associated platelet dysfunction from excessive garlic ingestion: a case report.

The authors report a case of spontaneous spinal epidural hematoma causing paraplegia secondary to a qualitative platelet disorder from excessive garlic ingestion. The case also demonstrates satisfactory recovery from thoracic spinal epidural hematoma in a nonagenarian. Recovery from severe spinal cord compression can occur even in the very elderly.
