In this exploratory study, we examine political polarization regarding the online discussion of the COVID-19 pandemic. We use data from Reddit to explore the differences in the topics emphasized by different subreddits according to political ideology. We also examine whether there are systematic differences in the credibility of sources shared by the subscribers of subreddits that vary by ideology, and in the tendency to share information from sources implicated in spreading COVID-19 misinformation.

Nature is adept at utilising highly similar protein folds to carry out very different functions, yet the mechanisms by which this functional divergence occurs remain poorly characterised. In certain methanotrophic bacteria, two homologous pentacoordinate c-type heme proteins have been identified: a cytochrome P460 (cyt P460) and a cytochrome '-β (cyt cp-β). Cytochromes P460 are able to convert hydroxylamine to nitrous oxide (NO), a potent greenhouse gas.

Local delivery of protein agents is potentially important in many tissue engineering systems. In this report, we evaluate an experimental system for measuring the rate of nerve growth factor (NGF) transport and biological activity within a 3-dimensional, tissue-like environment. Fetal brain cells or PC12 cells were suspended throughout collagen gel cultures; controlled-release matrices were used to control the spatial and temporal pattern of NGF release.
