Taxanes are frequently used anticancer drugs known to kill tumor cells by inducing mitotic aberrations and segregation defects. A defining feature of specific cancers, notably triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC) and particularly those deficient in BRCA1, is chromosomal instability (CIN). Here, we focused on understanding the mechanisms of docetaxel-induced cytotoxicity, especially in the context of BRCA1-deficient TNBC.

Background: Telehealth is now a necessary component of health care delivery, and its use among health care professionals was accelerated by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Problem: Nurse practitioner (NP) programs generally incorporate telehealth competencies within their curriculum, preparing NPs to effectively deliver telehealth and improve health outcomes.

Approach: We developed and implemented a telehealth blueprint to enhance telehealth content within our clinical Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) program guided by the Four Ps of the Telehealth Framework planning, preparing, providing, and performance evaluation.

Article Synopsis
  • Current aqueous-based tryptic digestion methods face challenges like long digestion times and variability in peptide identification and sequence coverage.
  • The Denaturing Organic Digestion (DOD) method offers a faster alternative, requiring only common solvents and reagents, without needing expensive equipment.
  • Results showed that the DOD method generated similar peptide profiles to traditional methods but identified more hydrophilic peptides; longer digestion times improved precision and peptide identification.

Article Synopsis
  • A phase II clinical study evaluated the effectiveness of a treatment combo (ibrutinib, bendamustine, and rituximab) in patients with relapsed or refractory aggressive B-cell non-Hodgkin lymphoma after stem cell transplants or in elderly patients.
  • The study showed a 49.1% overall response rate among patients who received at least one cycle, with better outcomes for those with relapsed disease (72.3%) versus refractory disease (37.8%).
  • Patients experiencing complete or partial responses had significantly longer median overall survival of 28.1 months, while common side effects included fatigue, diarrhea, and nausea, indicating that the treatment is both safe and effective for those needing potential transplantation.

In ectothermic animals, elevational gradients, such as mountainous environments, are often associated with shifts in body size, although patterns differ across taxa and contexts. Mountain landscapes are characterised by relatively rapid shifts in biotic and abiotic conditions along an elevational gradient, commonly referred to as elevational zonation. Such zonation can reduce the geographic scale at which organisms experience the effects of climate change.
